Meatball Sub

Ingredients

  • 1 cup olive oil (enough for frying)
  • 1 pound lean beef
  • ½ pound ground pork
  • ½ tablespoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ tablespoon fresh chopped parsley
  • Slices mozzarella
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • Sauce
  • 1 8-ounces can dice tomatoes
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • ½ cup diced onions
  • 2 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper taste

Sauce

Heat oil over medium heat.

Sauté onions for 5 minutes then add garlic.

Add diced tomatoes. Add salt and pepper. Cook for 10 minutes.

Carefully add to blender. Blend until smooth.

Pour back into the saucepan. Let simmer.

Meatballs

Mix seasoning and meat in a large bowl.

Using a spoon scoop meat and form into balls makes 12-16 balls

Heat oil over medium heat. Brown meatballs on each side.

Place meatballs in sauce. Continue to simmer for 10 minutes.
